Grade 9 Statistics Lead
Full-Time (Part-Time will be considered)
Starting salary £49,148 to £56,950 (with potential progression to £74,259 once in post)
We are looking to appoint an experienced Clinical Trials Statistician to take up the post of Statistics Lead within the Birmingham Clinical Trials Unit (BCTU) and join the expanding Statistics Team at BCTU.
This post provides an exciting opportunity to collaborate with clinical investigators on a national and international level, and play a lead role in the development of research ideas into clinical trials. The post holder will lead on all statistical aspects of a portfolio of clinical trials resulting in funding applications and publications in leading journals which will impact on the future clinical management of patients. The post holder will contribute at a senior level to management and strategic activities in relation to the Statistics Team, with line management, mentorship and training responsibilities of Statisticians in the Unit. They will contribute to strategic activities within the Unit, and also to the Institute of Applied Health Research and University-wide as required.
BCTU is a leading national UKCRC clinical trials unit. Established in 1997, BCTU has evolved into one of the largest and most effective clinical trial units in the UK specialising in the design, conduct and analysis of definitive clinical trials and test evaluation studies, as well as methodological research, under the directorship of Professor Peter Brocklehurst. BCTU’s aim is to help stimulate, develop, conduct, support, analyse and report high quality clinical research to generate more reliable evidence on causes and best treatment of a wide range of diseases.
