I agree with Erik.
I enjoy DRS, but also EAD. I like the breadth of these conferences and I really do not understand everything presented, but I consider that a learning experience. I also agree with Erik that the quality is so-so. There are real highs and lows at the design research conferences.
I would applaud a design research conference that would accept long papers of 8000-10000 words, as well as short papers of 2000-4000 words, with 3-4 reviewers for each paper plus a meta-reviewer, and have an acceptance rate of about 25%. Publication of proceedings should be with a *stable* publisher, that at least allow green open access through parallel publishing/self-archiving.
Best,
// Mattias
