BPP University Law School is looking for external examiners for the following modules on the Legal Practice Course and LLM Legal Practice (Solicitors):

Advanced Criminal Litigation
Civil litigation
Debt Finance
Equity Finance
Corporate Finance
Property Law and Practice
Advanced Commercial Property
Commercial Property and Private Client
Private Client
Wills & the Administration of Estates
Funds and Private Client
Insurance Law
Media & Entertainment Law
Family Law
Medical Negligence and Personal Injury
Drafting
We are looking for candidates who:
• are suitably qualified with appropriate academic and/or professional expertise in the above areas;
• are able to make informed, independent and impartial judgments on the academic standards set, the measurement of student achievement, and the rigour and fairness of the assessment process; and
• have appropriate standing, credibility and breadth of experience within the academic/professional community for their opinion to carry weight.
Previous experience as an external examiner is preferred but not essential and training will be provided.
Duties include:
• scrutinising and commenting on draft assessments and marking guides;
• checking a sample of marked scripts to ensure that they have been marked in accordance with the marking guide;
• attending external examination boards;
• attending a centre visit and meeting with students; and
• submitting an annual report at the end of each year of the appointment.
The appointment would be for an initial period of three years from 1 October 2018.
