Leicester College, in collaboration with De Montfort University, is seeking to appoint an External Examiner for their FD Artistic Makeup and Special Effects programme. The appointment period for this post is initially four years and will commence September 2018.

The programme is a Full Time Foundation Degree (FdA) in Artistic Make-Up and Special Effects.

Modules undertaken at level 4 are as follows; Fashion, Editorial Hair and Make Up Techniques, Specialist Make-Up, Postiche, Visual Communication in Design, Historical and Contextual Understanding, The Human Body.

Modules undertaken at level 5 are as follows; Digital Media for Make Up, Advanced Prosthetics, Historical and Cultural Hairstyling, Contemporary Conext – Visual Media, The Freelance Practitioner, Negotiated Study.

Appointees are responsible for overseeing a number of modules associated with the programme, and are required to moderate a sample of scripts relating to each module and report on these to the module leader.  The provision of an annual report to the University would also be expected. Appointees are expected to attend the Programme Assessment Board(s) for their appointed programme. 

The College would consider applications for External Examiners who are from an Art and Design background as well as in this subject field.

Please note that the successful candidate will need to be based in the UK, and we are unable to consider nominations from people who do not have External Examiner experience.
