I'm delighted to be able to share with you the outcomes of the 5 July Panel meeting<http://www.nationalarchives.gov.uk/about/news/newly-accredited-archive-services-5/> on behalf of the Archive Service Accreditation partners<http://www.nationalarchives.gov.uk/archives-sector/archive-service-accreditation/management-of-archive-service-accreditation/>. A total of 17 new services received the award, becoming Accredited Archive Services:
* Bolton Archives and Local Studies Service
* Bromley Archives
* Bury Archives and Local History Service
* Centre for Buckinghamshire Studies
* Dudley Archives and Local History Service
* Durham County Record Office
* Essex Record Office
* Kent Archive Service
* North East Lincolnshire Archives
* Northumberland Archives
* Public Record Office of Northern Ireland
* Stockport Local Heritage Library
* Tameside Local Studies and Archives
* Teesside Archives
* University of Liverpool Library Special Collections and Archives
* Wallace Collection
* West Sussex Record Office
The Panel also considered existing awards, confirming that Kings College London have moved from a provisional to full award, and that Falkirk Archives, Gloucestershire Archives, Manchester Central Library and University of the Arts Archives and Special Collections Centre have retained their awards after their regular reviews. Our congratulations to all those who have worked so hard on their applications and who have demonstrated that they have achieved UK national standards relating to management and resourcing, the care of unique collections and the service offer to their entire range of stakeholders.
