You will join an internationally-renowned team, led by Professor Martin
Tobin and Professor Louise Wain in the Genetic Epidemiology group in the
Department of Health Sciences. The team’s research is funded from MRC,
Wellcome Trust, NIHR and via industry partnerships, principally GSK. We
undertake original research using unique “big data” from local studies
(such as the EXCEED study) and from collaborative national and
international studies (including international consortium-based studies of
respiratory disease), employing large-scale phenotype and genotype data to
inform understanding of disease determinants, target validation and disease
prediction.
We are looking to recruit a Postdoctoral Research Associate in Genetic
Epidemiology or Statistical Genetics. You will be involved in large-scale
epidemiological studies of common complex diseases and traits. This will
involve taking a role in the design and development of new and existing
collaborative projects.
*About you*
With a PhD in a relevant discipline you will have experience of techniques
used in bioinformatics, with expertise in genomic analyses, genetic
epidemiology or statistical genetics. You will have evidence of research
productivity, including high-quality research publications, and excellent
written and oral communication skills.
*Additional information*
This post is funded via collaboration with an industry partner and
applicant details may be shared with a third party. Please advise at the
time of application if you do not wish for your details to be shared at
