Biomedical Data Scientist, University of Glasgow
We are looking to employ an experienced Biomedical Data Scientist. The aim of this post is to harmonise and integrate anonymous patient data (including clinical and genetic data) into a tranSMART database and subsequently assisting/ leading in-depth analyses of the datasets. You will have lead responsibility for designing, programming, documenting, managing and maintaining the technical architecture of the tranSMART system and related data import and export functionality, as well as supporting systems administration and operational requirements within the Institute.
You will take the lead on the extraction, transformation and loading of patient data from multiple sources into the system, for storage, reporting and analysis purposes by the Immune-Mediated Inflammatory Disease Biobanks in the UK IMID-Bio-UK community. Later in the project, data will be exported from tranSMART into statistical packages for analysis by groups internal to the University of Glasgow in addition to external project partners and collaborators.
