Abstract
Understanding human behaviour in disasters is fundamental to reduce the impact of natural and human threats on communities. In this presentation, Dr Loveglio is going to provide an overview of his research outputs published in the last 5 years. This research journey shows the effectiveness of combining novel technologies, such as Virtual Reality and Augmented Reality, with advance behavioural statistical models, such as Discrete Choice Models and Bayesian Estimation, to investigate Human Behaviour in Disasters. In the seminar, Dr Lovreglio is going to show how those technologies and modelling solution have been applied to investigate Human Behaviour is several small scale and large scale disasters, such as building fires, wildfires, and earthquakes, as well as how those can be used to train people overcoming the limitation of classic evacuation drills.

About the CTS Seminar Series
The CTS seminar series aims to facilitate discussion on current research topics in the transport field. Seminars are free of charge and open to all interested parties. Seminars are hosted jointly by the Centre for Transport Studies at University College London and Imperial College London. They are usually held on Wednesday afternoons at either University College London or Imperial College London.
