Hi Kirsty;
We have issues similar to this, mainly where the module code doesn't follow the usual format, or if a reading list is created for a whole course, not a module.
We can just add the list's URL to the VLE site, as a webpage. They have no connection to the hierarchy in Aspire.
We're still aware of the department that the module/course belongs to, so for us the purchasing via budget code is done as normal & new items are linked via metadata refresh.
All best wishes,
Rachel.

Subject: Non-credit bearing courses in reading lists?
Dear colleagues,
Does your institution have non-credit bearing courses which don't have module codes ? How do you deal with these in reading lists, and if you link them to your VLE, do you link them to your hierarchy, & to the VLE that way ? How do you manage the purchasing for these courses, if you do purchase resources?
Kind regards,
Kirsty
