Hello everyone,
I have a few more questions about cost function weighting I was hoping some of you would be able to answer. I am asking these based off the FSL Course slides, and here is a link to the slide I am confused on:
https://imgur.com/a/pwGadn0
1) My first question is based on the second bullet point, starting with "voxel weights are relative..." What is this bullet point trying to say?
2) My second question is based on the statement that says "Large values for important areas/regions e.g. ventricular matching"... What does this mean? How does it relate to the voxel weights statement above?
3) How does this weighting work in general?
My last question has to do with the last section of text on the slide... It states "Do not assign zero to the background as then the brain/background contrast is lost." Why is it lost as a result of this?
Thanks!
