The University of Manchester Library is seeking an experienced manuscript cataloguer for a project to develop an online TEI catalogue of the Library's outstanding collection of over 500 medieval and early modern Latin manuscripts.
The post is a full-time, 15-month fixed-term contract. Applicants should hold a PhD (or equivalent) in a relevant subject, or demonstrable equivalent knowledge and experience of medieval and/or early modern Latin manuscripts; experience of cataloguing medieval and/or early modern Latin manuscripts using TEI; knowledge of medieval and/or early modern palaeography and codicology; and excellent Latin language skills. In addition, applicants should be highly motivated and enthusiastic, have excellent interpersonal and organisational skills, and be able to work independently to meet strict deadlines.
