Hello Jane
Most of our cataloguers would just create an access point in the bibliographic record, following RDA rules. We do have a few NACO cataloguers, who would create authority records on request for any name which could be confusing and/or require cross-references (e.g. pseudonyms or changes of name), and we always make authority records for names required in the records we contribute to BNB, but many of our ordinary bibliographic AAPs do not get authority records.
Whether the AAPs in the vendor records can be left as found depends on whether they are correct and adequate by RDA rules.
Best wishes,
Bernadette

Subject: Unauthorised Name Access Points in Records for Lulu Titles
Hi,
I am copy cataloguing a book self-published via Lulu in 2014.
There are no authorised access points for either of the authors.
What do other libraries do in these circumstances?
Should I just leave the access points in the vendor record as they are or can I ask for name authority records to be created?
Thanks,
Jane Daniels
