These posts are designed to strengthen the Department's research base and contribute to the University's strategic ambition to be recognized as a leading technological university. The post-holders will be expected to be accomplished researchesr in MS/OR and able to contribute to the Department's growing portfolio of research and teaching in the area of Analytics. We seek individuals with strong methodological specialism, the ability to translate theory to practice and with enthusiasm for MS/OR.
The Department is a leading MS/OR department in the UK, part of Strathclyde Business School, one of the top ranking UK Business Schools. We have a strong reputation in both theory and collaborative research, with international industry partners such as Rolls Royce and Iberdrola. The Department runs popular Masters programmes in Data Analytics, Operational Research, Business Analysis & Consulting and FinTech, as well as having a strong Doctoral programme. MS/OR is a key area for the University in developing its Technology and Innovation Centre which links industry and public bodies with the University through programmes in Energy, Health & Wellbeing, Advanced Manufacturing & Materials, Innovation & Entrepreneurship, Measurement Science & Enabling Technologies, Ocean Air & Space and Society & Policy. The University's rapidly developing industrial research collaborations offer tremendous opportunities for MS/OR researchers.
The successful candidates will have a PhD in Operational Research/Management Science or related discipline. They will also have the necessary skills and experience to contribute to a strong research and teaching profile and collaborate successfully with a range of colleagues. They will also have the appetite and ability to seek out and create collaboratively funded opportunities with industry and government.
