Who we are looking for?
We are looking for a GIS consultant to join our team in Dublin. Working directly with our customers on-site, you will help to solve data-centric problems and challenges they are facing. You will contribute to the design, development and delivery of innovative solutions as well as support and maintain existing systems.
What will you do?
As a consultant at 1Spatial, you will be responsible for delivering consultancy-led projects which will involve defining and delivering solutions that enable our customers to automate the modification, management and re-use of complex data, specifically:
• Deliver consultancy-led projects focused on spatial data quality and management which will involve designing/ developing customised web-GIS applications for customers and spatial data quality and management
• Deliver data workflows using the tools and platforms 1Spatial offer and advocate
• Assist in the design and delivery of customised web-GIS applications for clients
• Provide support and maintenance of existing systems in use by our customers, responding to helpdesk queries and resolving issues by guiding customers towards the solution or providing configuration or software fixes as required. Where issues cannot be resolved on-site, you will document issues for the product development team.
• Support the 1Spatial Sales Team with insightful contributions
• Work with the 1Spatial customers and community to assist in identifying opportunities where 1Spatial can add value and allow them to meet their needs
Required Skills:
• Proven experience working with spatial technology.
• Pragmatic approach to problem solving, with strong analytical skills and meticulous attention to detail
• Experience of enterprise databases such as Oracle, SQLServer or PostgreSQL/PostGIS
• Experience of some of the following software technologies – Oracle PL/SQL, Safe FME, JavaScript, HTML5, CSS, Oracle Application Express, Oracle WebLogic
• Familiarity of mapping server technologies such as ArcGIS Server and GeoServer
• Knowledge of Microsoft-based server technologies
• Experience in understanding, capturing and communicating customer needs
• Strong self-organisation skills with an ability to multitask
• A passion for learning and developing new skills
• Willing to work primarily on customer sites in Dublin, with occasional visits to the company head office in Cambridge, UK
