Dear All,
I'd like to draw your attention to the Twitter project that I have created to commemorate the 65th anniversary of the uprising of 17 June 1953 in the GDR and which might be of interest to some list members and/or their students.
This Twitter project enables followers to experience the uprising of 17 June 1953 in 'real time'. On 17 June 2018, seven fictitious citizens of the GDR will tweet about what they are experiencing in East Berlin, Magdeburg, Halle, Leipzig, Dresden and Görlitz - as if it were 1953. Six will tweet in German, one tweets in English. Thus, the story of the uprising will be told. This project is based on my primary and secondary research into the uprising.
The main Twitter account for this project is @17juni1953live . An accompanying website provides more details (in German and English): www.17juni1953live.wordpress.com
All of the Twitter accounts are public, so signing up to Twitter is not necessary.
Best Wishes,
