Salary: £31,604 to £38,833 per annum according to relevant experience

This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious graduate with the ability and confidence to manage a Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) project with Arrow Global Ltd.
The University of Manchester and Arrow Global Ltd are looking to recruit a Knowledge Transfer Partnership Research Associate to undertake this 36-month project which has an overall aim of improving the accuracy and efficiency of forecasts from Monte Carlo models for the purposes of valuing and optimizing credit portfolios, and the development of new forecast models.
The position will provide the successful candidate with a unique opportunity to develop and apply cutting edge methods in statistical computing and modelling, in collaboration with a leading financial company working in this field. The candidate will have opportunities to gain industrial experience and make substantial real-world impact, whilst simultaneously having the opportunity to independently conduct original research, with results being disseminated in international conferences and peer-reviewed journals.
The successful candidate will have recently obtained a PhD in a relevant branch of a related field, e.g. mathematics, statistics or similar. They will require experience in the development and implementation of statistical computing methods.
This post is funded through a Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) award, a UK Government scheme intended to promote sustained and mutually beneficial relationships between universities and industry.
Based at Arrow Global Ltd’s Manchester office, the successful candidate will work directly with supervisors from both the University (Dr Simon Cotter and Dr Tim Waite) and Arrow Global Ltd (Dr Sam Baynes) and will use the facilities and resources of both organisations.
