SHORT COURSE ON TRANSPORT AND THE ECONOMY
LEEDS, UK. 26TH - 27TH APRIL 2018
Transport's impact on the economy is very relevant in transport planning. Now in its fourth year the Institute for Transport Studies is pleased to offer a two day short course on Transport Infrastructure and Economics Performance. After attending this course transport professionals will:
* have a solid grasp of how, when, why and to what extent transport infrastructure affects businesses and the economy,
* how and why different economy modelling methods give rise to different predictions of economy impacts,
* understand how to incorporate economic impacts into a transport cost benefit analysis, and
* the relationship between welfare and GDP appraisal metrics.
The course is suitable for transport economists, transport professionals working in the field of economic impacts and those who intend to become involved in this field and already have an understanding of economics. It is suitable for consultants, government officials, academics and PhD students. It is refreshed every year, and this year has been updated to reflect the new webTAG wider economic impact guidance released in December 2017.
The course is based at the University of Leeds on April 26th and April 27th. Further information on the course is available at: https://www.its.leeds.ac.uk/courses/cpd/transport-infrastructure-and-economic-performance/.
