A PhD position is available in the laboratory of Ingrid Tessmer
(Rudolf Virchow Center for Experimental Biomedicine, University of
Würzburg). We are interested in the study of DNA repair processes with
particular focus on DNA lesion search and recognition mechanisms in
different DNA repair systems (Wirth et al. (2016) JBC 291:
18932-18946; Buechner et al. (2015) Nucleic Acids Research 43:
2716-2729; Tessmer and Fried (2014) DNA Repair 20: 14-22; Buechner et
al. (2014) JBC 289: 3613-3624). The project will involve a range of
single molecule approaches as well as molecular biological and
biochemical methods.
We are looking for a talented and highly motivated PhD student with
strong interest in DNA repair strategies and single molecule
biophysics. The position is available as of immediately. The PhD
student will be part of the International Graduate School of Life
Sciences of the University of Wuerzburg. Interested candidates should
e-mail an application including a cover letter detailing their
interests and expertise, their CV, transcripts, and the contact
information of at least two references to
