Train the Trainer
When: 16 February 2018
Where: Charles Darwin House, London, WC1N 2JU
What: Learn how to plan, design, structure, and deliver a training session using a variety of teaching formats and methods.
This course is for anyone who would you like to pass on their experience, skills or knowledge through training.
It will help you to gain confidence in how to develop strong presentation and teaching skills, deliver 1-2-1 and group training, facilitate group teaching and give effective feedback.
Tutor: Rachel Whitfield, owner of Whitfield Consulting Ltd and professional training and coaching consultant
Rachel is a highly qualified consultant, coach and trainer, and an experienced business manager, with an outstanding track record both within the UK and overseas. She has been involved in training and development for 20 years.
This event has been approved by the Royal Society of Biology for purposes of CPD and can be counted as 21 CPD points.

Working for a Professional Body
When: 19 February 2018
Where: Charles Darwin House, London, WC1N 2JU
Come along to develop an understanding of the professional body sector, the role of income and reserves, the importance of members and member relations, the internal workings of professional bodies and how they have developed in terms of organisations, roles and governance.
You will also learn about the role of your other key stakeholders, the importance of reputation and working relations with members, member networks and volunteers.
This is a fantastic course for those interested in working for a professional body and for new staff or those who have changed roles within a professional body to learn about what makes working for a professional body different from working for private, public or other third sector organisations.
Tutor: Robert Pitts, head of services at the Professional Associations Research Network (PARN).
