There will be a screening and discussion of Die Habenichtse (The Have Nots, Germany 2016) at The Regent Street Cinema on 13th Feb at 7pm. The film stars Julia Jentsch, was directed by Florian Hoffmeister and is based on the novel of the same name by Katharina Hacker, who was awarded the Deutscher Buchpreis in 2006. This is the first time the film will be shown in the UK.
The screening will be followed by a Q&A with Katharina Hacker, the screenwriter Mona Kino and the director Florian Hoffmeister. Moderation by Annie Ring, Lecturer, School of European Languages, Culture and Society at UCL.
The screening takes place in association with the German Screen Studies Network and the Greater London German Network.
