of MA scholarships:

Germanic Studies currently have a significant number of fully funded
postgraduate students, and you can write to any of them if you wish to
explore the possibilities of doing research at Sheffield. They include:
-- Katherine Calvert (AHRC/ White Rose Fellowship; topic: Weimar-era

Our staff expertise includes:
-- German literature 18th-21st c. (especially literature of the
Goethezeit and the Kaiserreich and Weimar eras);
-- cultural theory and cultural history (e.g., the relation between
Alltagskultur and literature; "characters" of culture, such as the pedant);
-- comparative literature and literary theory
-- the European (esp French and German) history of ideas
-- German social thought
-- satire, irony, and cliche in contemporary culture
-- Germanic (socio-)linguistics, incl issues of multilingualism
-- Dutch Studies
-- Luxembourg Studies
