Dear All
I am conducting a research for my Professional Doctorate in Education from the University of Wolverhampton. the title of my research is The Experiences of Adult ESOL Learners in a FE College in Birmingham.
The aim of this research is to study the experiences of adult English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) learners and the implications of their experiences on their learning, and on government policies which affect them.
My project aims to be an in-depth study of adult ESOL learners in an FE college in Birmingham. The learners chosen for the study will be from varied national, cultural and ethnic backgrounds to get a wider perspective of ESOL learners’ experiences. The study would identify the stories and experiences of the learners, their needs, and motivation in becoming ESOL learners, their ESOL learning experiences and their future aspirations in learning and employment. The study is intended to examine the relationship between learners’ experiences and government policies which affect them
