Hi Mike,
Edward Murgatroyd worked at the Grassington, Hebden and Cononley mines (Yorkshire) for lead and barytes in the late 19-teens and twenties. I'll send you the relevant pieces from my monographs on those two areas. It's interesting to learn that he got to Shropshire.
Regards,
Mike

E Murgatroyd from Keighley worked a few mines in Shropshire in the early
1930s. The impression I have is that he did not make a large capital outlay
at Bog Mine but it has been suggested that at Rhadley Mine he installed
significant plant and dug a substantial level. Does anyone on the list know
of his activities at other mines and whether the work at Rhadley with
substantial capital input and clearly a fair-sized work-force is a level at
which he is known to have worked at this period.
