Hi Simon/Kevin,
Thank you for the community link and info here.
The University for the Creative Arts (UCA) is about to conduct a simultaneous move upgrade of Blackboard and move to cloud hosting from local hosting, so if you are happy to share your issues spreadsheet with me I suspect it will be invaluable in making the process smoother.
Kind regards,
Matthew Drury

Hi Simon,
I found Katherine Williams and Kevin Lowey's guides really useful when we did our upgrade during the summer:
https://community.blackboard.com/thread/3724-upgrade-club-2017?messageTarget=all&start=100&mode=comments
(they're on page 5 of the 'Upgrade Club 2017' thread in case the link doesn't work)
I used Katherine's excel file as the basis for our general test plan shared document then I had another spreadsheet called 'Known Issues' which I used to keep track of issues introduced in the new version (in our case Q2 2017) which was based on Kevin's formula. It took a bit of time to follow Kevin's process but it was well worth it. The two documents in combination meant we caught and knew about a good few of the major issues before the start of term.
Kind regards,

Subject: Blackboard Testing Plan
Dear Blackboard Usergroup,
Here in Swansea we upgrade Blackboard every year in July and we are just starting the communication aspect of this. We currently have an Excel spreadsheet that the team works through testing the key functions which generally work well and highlights any issues with the most used aspects of the VLE.
We are always looking to improve our testing so I'm wondering if anyone on this list has a Blackboard testing plan/documents/process that you use when testing Blackboard system upgrades that you would be willing to share? I'm also happy to share our document (just get in touch).
Also does anyone undertake stress testing of their test server environment? This is something we don't currently undertake and this is the area that usually causes us headaches when the upgraded system goes live. Again any relevant information or resources that may be of help gratefully receieved.
Many Thanks
