The John Pendlebury Family Papers Cataloguing and Digitization Project- Phase 2
The British School at Athens is pleased to announce the opening of a short-term, full-time position for an archive assistant to finish processing The John Pendlebury Family Papers. The Pendlebury Papers, which cover the period from 1913 to 1964, document the life of archaeologist and WWII hero John Pendlebury from his early years as a schoolboy in England through his career as an archaeologist in the Mediterranean. The Project will involve the cataloguing and digitization of the Pendlebury Papers to make them accessible online.
An educational charity founded in 1886, the British School at Athens (BSA) is the UK’s research hub in the humanities and social sciences in Greece and its wider Balkan, European, Mediterranean and Levantine contexts. It conducts, facilitates and promotes research of international excellence in all periods – from the Palaeolithic to the present – and across all humanities and social science disciplines, as well as offering targeted courses to develop the next generation of researchers and academics in those fields. The BSA forms part of the British Academy's network of British International Research Institutes (BIRI) which sustains and supports British research overseas.
4 month contract with a stipend of £ 1,120 per month plus BSA membership.
Candidates must have a postgraduate archive qualification.
