Watford Borough Council is looking for a creative and motivated GIS specialist to join our team.
The council is currently undergoing an ambitious transformation programme, with the vision of making the best use of technology to deliver services to both our internal and external customers. Integral to this is bringing GI and mapping to the forefront of our service delivery strategy both directly supporting our interactions and transactions with customers and enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of service delivery.
We are looking for someone with a passion for GI, a real team player who as well as delivering GI services to our staff, customers and delivery partners, is able to work with the transformation team to translate their ideas around service delivery into real-life processes and solutions.
We use the latest suite of ESRI products including Portal, Server, Desktop and Pro to deliver our Corporate GIS solution to council officers and to the public. Therefore you will need excellent technical GI skills (preferably ESRI), along with good interpersonal skills to champion the use of GI and to continue to grow the solid GI user base within the organisation.
You will have excellent GI project management skills and be comfortable coaching and training staff to use GI.
Any experience with Uni-Form, FME or Python would be helpful.
You will also lead a small team who support GI and manage the LLPG and SNN functions.
