Dear all,
We have replied off list to Ivana, but this is a general note to the list that you can search The National Archives' Discovery<discovery.nationalarchives.gov.uk> service to find records held in over 2,000 UK archives. There are hints and tips<http://www.nationalarchives.gov.uk/help-with-your-research/discovery-help/> for using Discovery and constructing searches. Once you've done a search, you can view and filter results by records or record creator.
The Discovery record creators and associated indexes are a useful place to begin your research, as they give an overview of the locations of individual collections grouped by creator (family, individual or corporate body). There are 36 organ builders (people and corporate bodies) and another two related associations currently listed as record creators on Discovery.
Thanks,
Sam

Thank you!
Hello
This is a call for help in locating records of organ builders wherever they may be!
We at the Cadbury Research Library at the University of Birmingham have a large collection, the 'British Organ Archive', which comprises a range of material relating to organs and organ builders accumulated under the auspices of the British Institute of Organ Studies (BIOS), including papers of a number of organ builders. BIOS are keen to help prospective researchers locate collections held elsewhere and to share this information with their members and online. We shall of course also share this information through our online catalogue. Our most recent enquiry has us trying to find original papers of a firm working as 'Percy Daniel & Co' (also 'Daniel of Clevedon' and 'Cawston and Daniel') but we would be keen to hear about any collections which you know of.
Any replies will be gratefully received.
Thank you very much.
