A Postdoctoral Scholar Position is available in the Neuroscience of Cognitive Aging, Department of Neuroscience, University of Kentucky College of Medicine
One or two postdoctoral positions are available in the laboratory of Dr. Brian Gold (https://sites.google.com/site/btgoldlaboratory) to participate in NIH funded projects. Research is within the field of neurocognitive aging. Specific aims focus on distributed brain networks supporting cognitive control and memory processes, and the effects of aging, vascular pathologies and Alzheimer’s pathologies on these processes. The position presents the opportunity for a dynamic research experience associating measures of functional connectivity and cognition with white matter hyperintensities and white matter microstructural measures.
Human MRI studies are conducted on a state-of-the art 3T Siemens PRISMA scanner using a 64-channel head-coil. The imaging facilities are located a corridor away from our lab. Established methods are in place for recruitment of older adult participants through our Sanders-Brown Center on Aging (http://www.mc.uky.edu/coa/).
Qualifications:
•A PhD or MD/PhD (by the time of the start date) in a relevant discipline •Experience with one or more MRI analysis methods described above •Excellent scientific writing and communication skills •A promising publication record.
