St Bartholomew’s Hospital Archives, which is part of Barts Health NHS Trust Archives and Museums, holds material dating from the 12th Century onwards, including records of 9 hospitals, together with significant collections of art and other historical artefacts. Barts Health NHS Trust Archives is an Accredited Archive Service.
Thanks to the support of the Wellcome Trust’s Research Resources programme, St Bartholomew’s Hospital Archives is seeking an archivist to catalogue the archival records of St Mark’s Hospital. The position is fixed-term for 7 months.
In addition to appraising, listing, sorting and repackaging records, the post holder will work with the project conservator and volunteers to prioritise records for conservation and repackaging work, promote the collection as a research resource, and digitise illustrative material from the collections.
Candidates must have a recognised postgraduate qualification in archives administration and must be able to demonstrate their eligibility to work in the UK in accordance with the Immigration, Asylum and Nationality Act 2006. Where required this may include entry clearance or continued leave to remain under the Points Based Immigration Scheme.
