This new role is to coordinate the ERC Consolidator Grant Project,
'Arctic Cultures: Sites of Collection in the Formation of the European
and American Northlands' led by Dr. Richard Powell and is based in the
Department of Geography and the Scott Polar Research Institute. This is
a varied and interesting post to provide administrative and research
support to a team of 6 researchers.
The project investigates the construction of the Arctic that emerged
from the exploration of the region by Europeans and North Americans and
their contacts with indigenous people from the middle of the sixteenth
century. In addition to academic outputs, the project will create a
website, an exhibition, a major international conference, a series of
workshops, seminars and public events.
Reporting to the PI, the project coordinator will provide overall
coordination and oversight of the ERC project, and act as the interface
between the PI, Post Doctoral Researchers, accounts office and relevant
EC project and finance officers. The project coordinator will be based
in Cambridge.
