You will join an active statistics group within Warwick CTU and will provide statistical support on the design of large multi-centre randomised controlled trials, conduct analyses of datasets from the trials and contribute to the final reports. Current areas of research include cancer, emergency and critical care, mental health, cardiovascular disease, musculoskeletal disorders and pain, rehabilitation, trauma and orthopaedics.
You will have a first degree (Class I or II) or equivalent in a subject containing a substantial coverage of statistical theory, methods and practice or a taught Masters degree or equivalent in Statistics, Medical Statistics or a subject with substantial high-level statistics content. You will have a PhD or equivalent in statistics, medical statistics, epidemiology or other relevant discipline. You will have experience of writing scientific reports for publication, and experience of managing and analyzing large data sets. You will have excellent planning and organization skills, including the ability to prioritise workload and meet tight deadlines. You will be IT literate, self-motivated with excellent communication skills and have the ability to work well individually as well as in a team. You will have the ability to communicate statistical issues to non-statisticians and an aptitude for both applied and methodological research.
Please note this vacancy is also being advertised at Research Associate level, with two appointments being made.
For appointment at Research Fellow you should have a PhD or equivalent in statistics, medical statistics, epidemiology or other relevant discipline. Applicants who are close to completion of their PhD would be initially appointed at Research Associate level on a salary of £27,929 per annum. Once your PhD has been awarded and you have evidenced this, you will be appointed to the substantive post of Research Fellow at a salary within the range shown above.
