Analysts, The Higher Education Funding Council for England, Bristol
The Higher Education Funding Council for England (HEFCE) distributes public money for higher education to universities and colleges in England, and ensures that this money is used to deliver the greatest benefit to students and the wider public.
We are seeking to recruit two Analysts to join our supportive, enthusiastic, and high performing Analytical Services Directorate (ASD). Our Analysts apply a range of data analytics techniques to large sets of data in order to inform decision-makers in HEFCE and wider government.
The roles are focussed on the use of student data in the on-going development and implementation of two key areas:
1.Student opportunity policy, including analysis relating to the National Collaborative Outreach Programme; trends in participation in higher education; and analysis of higher education participation of local areas (POLAR).
2.The provision of high quality information on the location of higher education provision and partnership arrangements between higher education and further education providers, and the continued development of key information for students.
The roles are also likely to include work on:
supporting the management of a busy, high-performing team
managing substantial and high-profile new or established work areas
developing and maintaining processes that ensure the timely and accurate use of student data in our functions
analysing and presenting data to inform policy, funding or the public.
