The Role   
    
Job Summary   
The successful candidate will play an active role in the Analytics Centre of Expertise providing geo-intelligence and analytics advisory, support and delivery capabilities to the wider group. Working alongside GI/BI analysts, developers and data science specialists, this corporate capability supports the sales teams and analysts develop analytics solutions and insights for their respective business units.   
The candidate should be a senior expert in implementing and integrating geospatial technologies to solve risk management and other business problems. They will interact with clients and co-workers to co-ordinate and deliver prioritised projects and ensure the optimised use of our geospatial infrastructure. The candidate will be an enthusiastic advocate for geospatial analytics and enjoy developing geospatial products and technical enablement which is focused on quality assurance.   
    
Principal Accountabilities    
Conduct Risk: To put the interests of clients and the integrity of the market at the heart of the way you do business   
    
Principal Duties/Responsibilities    
Working with the Head of the Analytics CoE to advocate the use of the most suitable data/services, keeping up to date with market trends and capabilities   
Assisting service manager and Head of Analytics CoE in the design, development (implementation) and maintenance of GI platforms   
Performing analysis and creating information products from geo-intelligence and related software and sub systems.   
Providing support for data conversion, systems integration and systems/application's development and implementation.   
Ensure review of other analyst's deliverables (code reviews, design documents) and adherence to set quality control procedures.   
Ensure best practice and quality assurance is applied to technical delivery - role model and leading by example   
Line management including performance review and objective setting, input in the salary review, and guiding their personal development   
Co-ordinating the functional team ensuring the work is to a high standard and on time   
Developing and applying GI analysis solutions to meet other discipline specific needs.   
Facilitates technical design walkthroughs, reviews and handover with team members, service management   
Documenting specifications for geo intelligence or information technology (IT) reports, dashboards, or other outputs.   
Consults with cross functional team members (PM/BA etc) during delivery to ensure alignment and awareness of dependencies   
Evaluating GI development and application development proposals and assessing feasibility of projects, co-ordinating the estimation and planning of deliverables    
Maintain team competence by ensuring that skills or knowledge gaps are met with appropriate training and development so they are able to perform to their maximum capability and fulfil their potential and the requirements of the business and adhere to regulatory requirements   
Disseminate information regarding tools, reports, or metadata enhancements via community forums, training and stakeholder groups.   
Understand the internal and external data landscape and work with the Data Strategy team to make data more discoverable and available for analytics purposes.     
Identify and analyse industry or geographic trends with business strategy implications.   
Maintain library of model documents, templates, or other reusable knowledge assets.   
Analyse technology trends to identify markets for future product development    
    
Experience / Requirements    
5+ years of experience implementing enterprise software solutions, developing independent and integrated analytical solutions/capabilities   
Demonstrated data analytics/modelling proficiency   
Creativity and curiosity regarding data, ability to identify patterns in disparate data source   
Experience in both agile and classic “waterfall” implementations   
Strong communication and customer management skills   
Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment   
Experience in engaging with senior business leaders and IT    
Leads pilot engagements and supporting customers   
Communicates with product management to help shape the product roadmap    
Experience co-ordinating priorities and managing several projects simultaneously, driving projects through to completion.   
Experience of line management and associate development   
Advanced experience developing, supporting and co-ordinating the deployment of the ESRI Desktop product suite across a community of users (ArcGIS Desktop/ ArcGIS Pro and extensions such as Spatial Analyst, 3D Analyst, Data Interoperability & City Engine)    
Advanced experience developing , supporting and co-ordinating ESRI enterprise product suite (ArcGIS Server/Portal v10.4+, Data Store, ArcGIS Online) - experience designing, administrating and managing web services and applications at enterprise level   
Knowledge of the principles underlying geocoding and address data cleansing technologies (preferably Pitney Bowes Spectrum) and extending these capabilities to a diverse user community   
Strong competence working with SQL Server databases as a data source and SQL Server Spatial. Other databases advantageous.    
Advanced experience co-ordinating, developing and updating geospatial data warehouses with associated knowledge for data security and licence compliance.    
Advanced experience developing analytical models incorporating geospatial modelling and geo-processing services.   
Ability to develop custom algorithms using languages such as Javascript, Python or R.    
Degree educated in an analytical subject. A bachelor's degree in business, management, accounting, economics, statistics, information science or similar. Masters level or above would be an advantage.
