Are you an academic with proven abilities to carry out teaching in transport engineering? Are you passionate about delivering an exceptional student experience in a research-intensive Russell Group University?
The Institute for Transport Studies is one of the leading global providers of postgraduate training and is looking to strengthen its team in the field of transport engineering to support our growing postgraduate student population and a new undergraduate programme in Civil Engineering with Transport. In addition, this post presents an exciting opportunity to contribute to a new Joint School between Southwest Jiaotong University (SWJTU) and the University of Leeds (UoL) at the SWJTU campus in the city of Chengdu in China. You will spend some of the year (typically 6 to 8 weeks in a calendar year) in Chengdu, teaching on the BEng Civil Engineering with Transport.

With a PhD in civil engineering (or similar) you will have experience of curriculum development and teaching in a higher education setting, as well as evidence of commitment to the training and development of transport engineers. This experience may come from practice, academia or a combination of these but you would be expected to demonstrate enthusiastic and effective teaching skills alongside a range of delivery techniques and assessment methods. You will have excellent team working skills with an ability to work in a cross-cultural team, and possess excellent communication skills.
