Hi,
I am looking into how universities and other providers are taking account of the time required for student assessment, particularly as class sizes grow and there are pressures for more diverse assessment methods and better feedback practices. There is a concern that the amount of assessment-related work seems to be increasing with insufficient thought as to how this impacts on staff time.
I wonder if any institution or department has addressed this issue successfully, through perhaps limiting the amount of marking teachers are expected to do or changing funding models so that more resources are directed towards assessment.
If so, I'd be very grateful if you would share these policies and practices with me. I am happy to collate the responses (anonymously) and post the report back to the list.
Thanks very much,
Sue Bloxham
