Drawing together information and case studies which focus on two interlinked and hugely exciting themes, this event will provide delegates with practical advice and guidance about how to look after and provide access to collections; offer hands-on opportunities; provide information about our regional networks and how to get involved; time to explore the venue and network; and crucially provide in-depth case studies which demonstrate the role and value of Sporting Heritage, Photography and TV.
This event will bring together practitioners, volunteers, and academics active and interested in the field of the sporting past, photography and broadcast. It will aim to:
Explore the exhibition, display and outputs of the sporting past as captured through photography and broadcast TV
Provide practical skills and knowledge for the conservation and access of these collections
Understand how sport, photography and broadcast inter-relates
Understand where these collections are held and how better to provide access
Understand the importance of these collections to different audiences
Understand current research in the field of sporting heritage more generally

Day 2 will also include a seminar session with up-to-date information from our current research programme, delivered in partnership with the National Football Museum, on the wider field of sporting heritage in general. It will also support those with an interest in developing research in the field, becoming a supervisor, or looking to develop a partnership with a Higher Education Institute.
