Apologies for the self-promotion, and I hope this is OK to post on this list:
TypeOlogy https://typeology.co.uk/ is a workers' co-operative, doing
audio transcription (e.g. of research interviews, recordings of
lectures/presentations, radio shows or podcasts, etc.) that I and a
few friends have started. I thought it worth posting here because many
people on this list are likely to be doing research projects involving
interviews that need to be transcribed, and/or may have other things
(e.g. recordings of presentations) that they might want to provide a
transcript of for accessibility reasons (e.g. for people with hearing
impairments).
We are a workers' co-operative consisting primarily of disabled people
who experience barriers to getting and/or maintaining more typical
forms of employment, and unlike many more mainstream transcription
services, we have specialist knowledge of terms and concepts used in
the social sciences, including Disability Studies. We also are
particularly keen to work with groups and individuals whose work is
based on values of social justice, liberation, accessibility and
inclusion, and we may be able to offer discounts for unfunded projects
with similar values to our own. Our pricing rates can be seen on our
website: https://typeology.co.uk/contact/
