Dear list members
The second national workshop for the Socially Inclusive Cities Network will be held on 5th September 2017 at 12- 4.30 pm. The workshop will explore policy and practice strategies to support the inclusion of minority ethnic and religious groups in health, education, local government and police services. We have speakers from Public Health England, Development Education Centre, Touchstone, Arakan Rohingya Organisation UK and other relevant institutions. We will also be presenting evidence from a global review of literature on this topic carried out by a research team at Leeds.
An expert panel drawn from organisations working closely with minority ethnic and religious groups will give feedback on the various strategies presented.
Workshop participants will discuss underlying theories, methods and collaborations that inform these strategies and any research gaps that still need to be addressed. If you would like to attend please register by emailing Andrew Meggs (copied in) with your name, organisation, job title and contact details.
Further details about the Network, which currently involves Universities, NGOs and policy/practice partners in India, Kenya, Nigeria, the UK, and Vietnam, are available at https://medhealth.leeds.ac.uk/info/615/research/2381/socially_inclusive_cities
