We are seeking to appoint a Senior Statistician to join the Health Services Research Unit (www.abdn.ac.uk/hsru), University of Aberdeen. You will lead the statistical team of four people within HSRU. The team are involved in a wide range of statistical activities including the design, conduct and analysis of randomised trials, meta-analysis, decision modelling, non-randomised studies and methodological research projects in these areas, with collaborators from other national and international centres.
You should have a PhD in statistics (or a closely related subject) or a Masters level qualification in statistics (or closely related subject), plus the appropriate level of experience which demonstrates the ability to work at post-doctorate level. You should also have a track record of applied research publications and evidence of gaining competitive grant income. It is desirable that candidates have experience of the design, conduct and analysis of phase III/IV trials, network meta-analysis, and experience of supervising staff. All candidates should have the ability to work effectively within a multi-disciplinary research team.
Salary will be at the appropriate point on the Grade 8 (£49,772 - £55,998 per annum) salary scale and negotiable with placement according to qualifications and experience. As this post is externally funded it will be available until 31 December 2018.
