For all of you who are interested in the European Union and/or Oswald
Spengler, further below are the links to a two-part Prokhorov Centre
interview that I did with the historian David Engels.
On the basis of an essentially Spenglerian approach to history, Engels
argues in his "Auf dem Weg ins Imperium. Die Krise der Europäischen
Union und der Untergang der Römischen Republik" that the EU is likely to
end up with the same kind of strong-man Caesarism that followed the
downfall of the Roman Republic.
The interview consists of two-parts: the first part looks in some detail
at Engels's thesis, while the second part explores possible criticisms
of his work.
