Dear FSL experts,
I have a question regarding hybrid PET/MRI imaging:
We have both PET and anatomical MRI images aquired at the same time in the same scanner.
M;y question is the following: Logically, I should be able to skip the Coregistration step, however, the pixel sizes etc. are not the same for the two images, so further analysis would not recognise images to be in the same space without coregistration.
There should be some information about the bounding boxes and the location in space relative to each other. Is this preserved, once the Siemens DICOM data is converted to Niftis? Can I use this to align the images?
My workaround for the moment is to do a flirt registration that just allows translation in x, y, z and global scaling. However, this gives away the huge advantage we have with the hybrid system.
Thanks a lot,
Judith Fornczek
