Dear Alain,
try typing the following at the MATLAB prompt:
>> which spm_hrf -all
My guess is that you have several versions of SPM in your path (eg SPM5)
or a third party toolbox containing its own old version of the function.
The solution will then be to edit your path to only contain the main
directory of your SPM installation.
You can also try this function for further installation diagnostics:
>> spm_check_installation full
