Dear Colleagues
The University of Birmingham are advertising for a 1-year, full-time
Research Fellow in Near-Surface Geophysics under the "FINDIT"
(Feasibility of Imaging with Non-Destructive Technologies) Research
Programme in collaboration with RSK, Geomatrix and BT.
The full advert can be found at...

The programme will develop/utilise non-destructive geophysical methods
to detect factors critical to the maintenance and development of
subsurface infrastructure. The post will focus on developing
methodologies for enhancing the information which can be obtained from
shallow geophysical techniques, such as ground penetrating radar (GPR).
The research will involve a combination of field trials combined with
novel data post-processing and modelling approaches. The field work will
involve trialling current geophysical techniques for shallow
investigations, such as GPR, on a BT test site to determine their
current capability and subsequently to trial the developed new
methodologies.
The post is available immediately with a starting salary in the range of
£29,301 to £38,183.
