Thank you for all the suggestions and insights! Ana ******Murphy, RobertF. (1987) The Body Silent. New York: W. W. Norton. Webster, Barbara(1989) All of a Piece: a Life with Multiple Sclerosis. The Johns HopkinsUniversity Press. Online aquí(here)Lina Masana

TheNational Geographic doc on Stress-Silent Killer, has a number ofneuroscientists who look at the role of stress on metabolism, illness courseand include external structural events and the impact on epigenetics; famineand war, chronic stress from social and racial inequality and the stress ofcaring for a disabled kid. Anythingby Robert Sapolsky gives insights, but his new book called Behave, (It's hugeand I'm only about 1/4 through but has a wealth of information on this topicwith tons of referenced that are annotated) is another amazing resource.Jo Ellen Brainin-Rodriguez, MD

I would read everything youcan get your hands on about ACEs (Adverse Childhood Experiences) and the impactof trauma on the brain before looking further for other information. There islots of new research out now.
I would try to get PTSD data and look see if youcan use Kaiser Permanente data from the ACE study. Websites such asAcestoohigh.com, http://www.acesconnection.com/ have the info your looking for ontheir resources pages. Look at work on this by Felitti, and Heather Larkin too. Also, Robert Wood Johnson Foundation has initiatives and a resourceshere: http://www.rwjf.org/en/library/collections/aces.html.
Here's a report from Walessince you're in the UK http://www.cph.org.uk/wp-content/uploads/2016/01/ACE-Report-FINAL-E.pdf
Here's a great animation https://acestoohigh.com/2017/05/01/england-and-wales-produce-new-animation-about-aces-resilience/

The book by Annmarie Mol is very interesting and might be helpful! The title isThe body multiple. Ontology in medical practice.
And also the article by Tiago Moreira might be helpful - I have enclosed it. Itis perhaps not so relevant to your needs, but also very interesting. It stuckin my mind because it is about neurosurgery.

Dear colleagues,
Could you recommend any anthropological work on neurological conditions including head and spinal injury, movement disorders, vascular diseases, multiple sclerosis, etc?I am developing training on health inequalities for clinicians and policy makers and the anthropological lenses are powerful to illustrate how socio -economic inequalities operate to trigger sickness episodes or to prevent people from benefiting from existing services.
Any information is welcome. I am happy to compile the suggestions and share them with the list.
Warmest wishes Ana
