We are looking for an enthusiastic person to join Lancashire Clinical Trials Unit with the aim to support research and knowledge transfer activities of the Faculty of Health & Wellbeing. The Research Associate (Statistics) will work on research projects, performing data management and statistical analysis, and then reporting the research findings in a variety of formats to different audiences, all under the supervision of the projects' lead statisticians. The post holder will also be expected to contribute ideas, and/or enhancement of techniques or methodologies relevant to the project or which will be likely to lead to associated methodological research.
As an enthusiastic and self-motivated individual, the successful applicant will need to hold MSc in medical statistics, epidemiology, statistics (with medical statistics options) or related subject. You will have experience in working with professionals from health-related disciplines and in collaborating with and delivering statistics services to research teams.
Excellent oral and written communication skills are a must, as are good written report writing skills. Time management, data management and IT skills will be supported by the ability to synthesise quantitative information effectively. The ability to travel between multiple work sites is required.
