There will be a one-day workshop to be held at the Isaac Newton Institute in Cambridge on Tuesday 18th July 2017 as part of the scalable statistical inference programme (https://www.newton.ac.uk/event/sin), entitled:
'Sampling methods in statistical physics and Bayesian inference.’
Confirmed speakers include:
Joris Bierkens (TU Delft)
Robert Jack (Bath)
Manon Michel (Orange Labs)
Michela Ottobre (Heriot Watt)
Anthony Maggs (ESPCI)
Andrew Duncan (Sussex)
The aim is to connect researchers working in the two disciplines, with half of the speakers from statistical physics and half from Bayesian inference. The focus in the morning will be on methods based on non-reversible Markov processes, and in the afternoon on other topics.
Attendance is free, but those interested should email either [log in to unmask] or [log in to unmask] to register. Coffee/registration will be from 09:30 on the day. The timetable will be uploaded on the programme webpage nearer the time, but talks will likely start just after 10:00 and finish at around 16:30.
You may leave the list at any time by sending the command
SIGNOFF allstat
to [log in to unmask], leaving the subject line blank.
