Hi all,
I'm a PhD researcher at Northumbria University, Newcastle, and I'm undertaking an historical reception study and audience research project on The Exorcist (1973). The aim of the project is to create an original history of the life of The Exorcist in Britain by combining an historical reception study with oral history methods. This project is funded by Northumbria University and supervised by Dr Sarah Ralph and Prof. Peter Hutchings. More information can be found at theexorcistproject.com.
A very brief survey has just been published online, and I would be tremendously grateful if you would care to share your history with this film. It should take no more than five minutes, but, of course, feel free to write as much as you like! This project is focused on the film's history in Britain - I hope to recruit participants for focus groups and individual interviews in the UK - but I would very much like to hear from anyone outside of the UK for this survey, too. Whether you saw the film at the cinema or at home, and whether you love the film or loathe it, I would be very excited to hear about your experiences with The Exorcist.
You can find the survey here: https://goo.gl/forms/hJrF3ArdS0p8bbOX2
If you could share this survey with anyone you might think would take an interest, I would be eternally in your debt. If you have any questions about the project or would like to discuss any aspect of it, please feel free to contact me at [log in to unmask]
Thank you for your time!
