hi dieter,
you can one way sync your files to a second location (sync whole
directory incl .Nodes etc. files and directories!).
at the second location you can edit the default_pipeline.star and set
the next job number to a very(?) high 3-digit number e.g. 500
_rlnPipeLineJobCounter 500
then you can run relion at both sites.
if you want to merge them, you copy both default_pipeline.star to a new
name and rsync them together to one location.
then you can use diff/patch to generate a valid new default pipeline
star file (if the job numbers do not overlap!).
https://linuxacademy.com/blog/linux/introduction-using-diff-and-patch/
or use a graphical diff tool which can also merge.
just make sure the job counter line is only once and has the highest new
job number to continue at the merged site.
cheers,
wolfgang
