Hi All
I've got hold of an Elinchrom Boxlite - it's basically a big 32x43cm lightbox with two linear flashtubes and modelling lights inside.
I'd like to use it for photographing slides and also occasionally adding a bit of backlighting to paper materials when necessary.
The boxlite is powered by one of the Elinchrom Digital RX 1200watt or 2400watt packs and at their minimum power (37/75watts) it's still too bright really - and that's my problem.
I know I could get the power packs specially modified to have a lower minimum power or I could use an ND filter over my lens, but for several reasons if at all possible I'd prefer to find an alternative solution to these.
What i'm looking for is something I can place over the top of the lightbox to knock off about 4 stops of light, but that will alter the light temperature as little as possible.
This morning I tried placing a sheet of 5mm thick white perspex on top of the litebox and this knocked off 5 stops of light but also shifted the flash colour temperature from 5200k to 3968k, which is far from perfect
If anyone has any suggestions for something that I could use that will alter the colour temperature less than this perspex i'd be very grateful
Many Thanks
Best
Andrew
