Dear all
The Learning and Teaching Institute at the University of Chester is looking for two external advisors for our quinquennial review, to take place on 4 July 2017.
The Learning and Teaching Institute is part of Academic Quality and Enhancement alongside Academic Quality Support Services, and there are strong links between the two departments. The LTI consists of two central teams: the Study Skills Advisors and the Academic Development Advisors. A Senior University Teaching Fellow (0.4 post in the LTI) is based in each Faculty, supporting and extending the work of the central teams. Between these teams, the LTI:
- Runs the HEA-accredited PG Cert Learning and Teaching in Higher Education and the related PG Dip/MA programmes
- Provides a route for experienced staff to gain Fellowship of the HEA (D1-D3)
- Offers and advises on study skills support for students
- Provides a programme of staff development workshops in teaching/supporting learning
- Engages in University-wide initiatives to support teaching, learning and assessment
External advisors should have current experience of running a similar department and services, preferably in a similar type of institution. The role involves providing written comments on the review documentation in advance, and attending the review meeting on 4 July. External advisors will be asked to have input into the various meetings held at the review, and may be asked to lead some aspects which relate particularly to their own interests and expertise. A fee of £175 and expenses are paid after the event.
Please send expressions of interest, outlining your suitability for the role and confirming your availability on 4 July, accompanied by a short CV, to [log in to unmask], to reach us before 3 April 2017. This is also the email address to use for any informal enquiries.
Best wishes
Kate
